A new Myeloma UK nurse resource, the Myeloma Nurse Programme (MNP), which launched at the beginning of February, has already recruited 50 members.
Nurses at hospitals across the UK have been invited to join the MNP and become a local nurse myeloma advocate for patients and their local nurse peers. The MNP aims to champion the continuity and development of both myeloma nursing and local patient services to ensure patients receive the best possible standard of care.
Through the MNP, nurses will be able to connect with a national network of myeloma nursing peers registered on the programme; and access a range of resources which have been accredited by the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) including Best Practice Guides in Myeloma Nursing and a Myeloma Nursing Competency Framework along with other resources, including best practice case studies, patient information, access to funding to set-up local patient services and much more.
Ask your nurse if they are registered on the MNP and if they would like to join. For more information please contact Lois at lois.lobban@myeloma.org.uk or call +44 (0)131 557 3332.
