Awareness & campaigns

Myeloma UK is the only organisation in the UK dealing exclusively with myeloma and its related conditions. Our aim is to rapidly and systematically remove the critical barriers that are slowing down the research, development of and access to new treatments, optimum care, information and support.

As part of this we have identified and mapped the policy barriers, hurdles and opportunities across our four strategic areas:

Discovery science – developing new drugs in the laboratory

Clinical development – testing promising new drugs that patients can benefit from as soon as possible

Approval and implementation – enabling the NHS to provide optimal treatment and care to myeloma patients

Living with myeloma – ensuring patients and their families have access to optimal care, information, support and services wherever they live

Through a number of campaigning strategies, Myeloma UK is working tirelessly across all four nations of the UK to raise the profile of myeloma and to ensure that the needs of the entire myeloma community are reflected in policy.
