At school

There's so many simple and fun things you can do at school to raise money for Myeloma UK.

Here are some great ideas to get you started.

Fundraising ideas

Dress down and out...

Have a non-uniform day at school. An even better idea is to ask everyone to come in fancy dress. You can then charge everyone who does a £1 - and those that don't £2.

Friday's tie day...

Substitute your school ties for the worst ties you can find - dig out your dad's old 70's kipper ties, charge £1 per person at school and have a small prize for the most hideous tie.

Prance and parade

Get your glad rags on (lads too) and have a school fashion show.

Fairs fair...

Have a School Fair - with lots of cakes for sale, ice cream and games.

Who's who...

Organise a "Who's That Baby Contest" and match people up with their baby photos. Get your teachers to join too.

Scrub up well...

Wash cars (on the school grounds) - start with your teachers car.

Acting up...

Put on a School Play or Concert.

Stick 'em up...

Have a class collection.

Yum Yum Yak...

Make sweets and biscuits and sell them at school. Yum Yum ones will probably sell better than Yak Yak ones.

Anyone for a quick dip...

Try a sponsored swim.

The ball's in your court...

Hold a baseball / cricket / golf / basketball / netball / tennis / football tournament. How do you raise money? Charge entrance fees of course.

Skippety do da...

Hold a sponsored skip - see who can skip for the longest, or how many people you can get to jump the rope in a row.

Square eyes...

Use your thumbs to raise money and have a Computer Games Knockout Tournament.

Smarty pants...

Fill a large jar with smarties and charge other kids to guess how many are in the jar. Can you guess what the prize will be?

Ssshhhhhh...

Hold a sponsored silence. Teachers love this one. Can you guess why?

Sponsored denial...

Get your friends and teachers to sponsor you to give up something you love or a bad habit, for a week, or for good. For example, your favourite television programme, biting your nails or even chocolate.

Sponsor a male teacher to get his legs waxed.

Who at school wouldn’t pay for that? Talk one of your hairy legged male teachers to get his legs waxed. Put up posters all around the school with a picture of the hairy leg to be waxed. Get a spot at lunch time – in a large room or gym hall – and charge just £1 entrance for pupils to watch their teacher endure the pain of leg waxing. The more popular the teacher – the more students who will want to watch.
