There are many fun and exciting ways to raise money for Myeloma UK.
We have put together a list of some of the most popular work-based fundraising activities our supporters have done in the past.
You can also come up with your own ideas or if you need some additional information, request our fundraising pack for all you need to know to successfully raise money at work.
Take part in our Dress Down Day it happens on the last Friday in March every year However, if you can’t do it on that day you can hold one on any day that suits you. If you dress down at work already, wear something orange instead.
Everyone pays £2 to take part and to maximise the amount you raise you can do other activities on the day to have even more fun.
Ask your work to donate a day’s leave for someone and raffle it off. The person with the winning raffle ticket wins an extra day of annual leave.
Along with a few colleagues, take lunch to work for everybody. People can eat as much as they want for a donation of £5. You could hold a raffle or tombola at the same time to raise even more cash on the day.
Show your colleagues what a good singer you are (or not) by taking the mic for an afternoon of karaoke. Participants and spectators pay a fee to join in, or you can collect sponsorship to sing a song, or ask people to donate money for you to stop if you’re out of tune.
Ask all your colleagues to put the names of their favourite celebrities into a hat and pay to pick a name. You then have to try to be the person you select, for example, by adopting their mannerisms. Make it even more fun by asking people to dress up as the celebrity.
Leave the car at home and get sponsored to walk or ride to work for a week / month. It will be good for you as well as the environment.
Hold a quiz over lunch. People and / or teams pay a fee to take part with a prize for the winning person and / or team. Ask your boss or company to donate a prize.
Go back to the 60s, 70s or 80s by going to work in clothes that defined these colourful decades. Everyone pays £2 to take part.
Send out invitations to all your colleagues, neighbouring business and suppliers and hold a coffee morning in your board room. Wait until November and you can take part with hundreds of others during our Coffee Morning Month.
People love home-baking, so have a home-baking sale at work every Monday morning for a month and see how much you can raise from your colleagues having a sweet tooth.
Get everyone to bring in a photo of themselves as babies and then charge people £2 to guess their identities.
Get sponsored to give up coffee for a month or to stay away from the staff room vending machine.
Have a non-email day at work. Everyone gives a donation to take part and if they break the rules they pay a fine.
Take part in a run, walk or active event on your own or as part of a team from work.
