In the Spring issue of Myeloma Matters we announced that MUK one, the first study in the Myeloma UK Early Phase Clinical Trial Network, had opened for recruitment in record time. I'm delighted to say that recruitment still remains ahead of target.
In this issue we are delighted to talk with Dr Steve Schey, Chief Investigator of this study, about the Network, the aims of the study, why they are important and how patients will benefit from the results. Paperwork for the next two studies in the Network portfolio, MUK two and MUK three are near completion and the study protocols set for regulatory submission.
With the Department of Health recently publishing a new strategy for the delivery of cancer services in England, Improving Outcomes: A Strategy for Cancer, we interview Prof Sir Mike Richards, the National Cancer Director for
England, on some important issues reported by myeloma patients and how the new cancer strategy proposes to address them.
We hope you find this issue interesting. Thank you for your continued support.
