Infection and myeloma Infosheet

This Infosheet explains what an infection is, what increases the risk of infection in myeloma, what the signs and symptoms of infection are and how infection is managed and treated.

Shingles vaccination
From 1 September 2023, myeloma patients will be eligible for vaccination against shingles from the age of 50, with no upper age limit, using the non-live vaccine Shingrix®. This is a change to the information given in the Infection and myeloma Infosheet. If you are aged 50 or over, and have not yet been vaccinated against shingles, you should be contacted.
