Award-winning designer and Chelsea legend Chris Beardshaw will be in charge of creating the stunning show garden inspired by the myeloma community.

The garden is a gift from Project Giving Back, a scheme launched during the pandemic to champion worthy causes and turn the spotlight on the invaluable work of a select few charities at the world’s most famous flower show.

Myeloma UK Chief Executive Dr Sophie Castell said:

“We cannot thank Project Giving Back enough for gifting us this thoughtfully crafted garden on our 25th anniversary. Chris Beardshaw’s stunning design beautifully encapsulates what we’ve always set out to be for the myeloma community: a safe space to get to grips and come to terms with their diagnosis and a beacon of hope, support and reassurance. This garden will not only help to fund our critical work but support our fight to give anyone affected by myeloma access to the latest treatments and a life worth living.”

A tranquil and meditative space, the Myeloma UK – A Life Worth Living Garden will celebrate the emotional and psychological health benefits of engaging with, and being immersed in, a garden of exquisite detail and calmness.

The ingenious use of a circuitous path weaving its way through the garden will encourage those living with myeloma to pause, simply feel and be in the moment.

Through its beauty, the garden’s unique design will aim to inspire, awaken the senses and acts as a reminder that life is worth living.

Chris Beardshaw said:

“We are extremely proud to have been asked by Project Giving Back to once again support their good causes and to create a special garden for Myeloma UK. Although the journey of a patient with a myeloma diagnosis is subtly referenced in the garden, it primarily celebrates the spiritual value of being immersed in a beautiful garden which encourages one to pause, take a breath and to engage with the gentle beauty of curated nature. The essence of the space is a reminder to celebrate the moment and be emboldened by the precious details of a garden.”
