The Helplines Partnership reaccredits Myeloma UK services for the 13 year running

Myeloma UK news, Patient advocacy news // 4th October 2017

Myeloma UK has been awarded a quality standard accreditation by The Helplines Partnership for the thirteenth year running. This quality standard covers the Myeloma Infoline, the PEER networkAsk The Nurse email service and Discussion Forum and runs until May 2020. The quality standard was specifically developed by the Helplines Partnership to accredit service delivery and recognize best practice.

The quality standard consists of a set of criteria which Myeloma UK had to meet to demonstrate our ability to deliver the highest quality service. This involved submitting documentary evidence, an assessment visit to observe our services in operation and test contacts to the services accredited.

The Helplines Partnership congratulated all involved for producing a comprehensive evidence portfolio specifically mentioning that from the observations undertaken during the visit, “it was evident that helpline workers are delivering an effective service, their dedication and passion to their work was evident throughout the assessment.”

Sue Perkins, Service Development Manager said “The Myeloma UK Myeloma Infoline service is one of our core flagship services for patients, their families and friends. We always aim to meet the highest possible standards across all of our programmes and services, to ensure that we provide everyone who uses these with the quality of support they deserve and we are delighted that it has been recognized by this accreditation.”
