Making myeloma a priority

An update on our election campaign

In April this year, we launched our ambitious “Make myeloma a priority” campaign with a petition to coincide with the Scottish and Welsh elections.

Our message was clear: people with myeloma deserve faster diagnoses and fairer access to the treatments they need.

The response from our community was incredible. More than 2,000 people signed our petitions in Scotland and Wales. Sending a powerful message to decision-makers that change cannot wait.

But our impact is measured by more than signatures.

We’re delighted that the Welsh Government have committed to a cancer strategy for Wales, something we called for in our campaign.

We’re also using the petition to secure meetings with politicians across the country so that we see policies implemented to improve the lives of people with myeloma. By doing this, we keep myeloma on the political agenda.

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to sign and shared the petition. Every voice that joined our campaign strengthened the case for action and helped increase the pace of change for people affected by myeloma.
