Scotland’s AL Amyloidosis Support Group

The Scottish Amyloidosis Support Group is an informal group of patients and family members who get together to socialise, exchange experiences and learn more about living with amyloidosis.

In addition to face-to-face meet-ups every few months, the Group has now been connecting with patients, much more frequently, over Zoom.  At time of writing (Feb 2023), the Scottish Amyloidosis Patient Support Group has run over 80 sessions of about two hours each.  Although the online platform has allowed us to invite people from outside Scotland, places are normally restricted to a maximum of 12 people per session.  This allows people an opportunity to share their stories individually, in a way that larger group sizes might prohibit.

The Group is very relaxed and informal and refreshments are provided at face-to-face meetings. Sometimes the Group will invite a guest speaker along to give a talk on amyloidosis, with time for questions and answers.

Anyone affected by amyloidosis is welcome to come to the Group’s meetings.
